2014

  • Jan. 24: A symposium “Displacement and older people-The case of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011-” is held at the Japanese Red Cross College of Nursing. HelpAge International published a report “Displacement and older people-The case of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011-” according with this symposium. President of Ibasho cooperated on writing and editing of this report.
  • Jan.-Feb. : HelpAge International inquired Ibasho possibility of a project on the disaster area of the typhoon Yolanda, Philippines.
  • Apr. 16-20: Ibasho’s 1st visit. Members of Ibasho visited 5 communities affected by the typhoon Yoland in Cebu island and Leyte island. These visits were coordinated by HelpAge/COSE. Members of Ibasho visited Barangay Bagong Buhay and met members of the Senior Citizens Association on April 18. After this visit, Ibasho and HelpAge/COSE decided to carry out Ibasho project at the Barangay Bagong Buhay.
  • Jun. : Ibasho created a proposal for the project at Barangay Bagong Buhay. This proposal was that elders would operate a cafeteria that provided lunch to children or that elders would cater for lunch. Ibasho, HelpAge/COSE and Architecture for Humanity planned to participate in this project.
  • Oct. 30-Nov. 2: Ibasho’s 2nd visit.
    • Oct. 31: Visited the Bagong Buhay Elementary School. Members of the Senior Citizens Association proposed in the meeting to build 2 stories building on the land of the elementary school. The 1st floor would be a place to serve meals for children. The 2nd floor would be a office of the Senior Citizens Association.
    • Nov. 1: Meeting with the members of the Senior Citizens Association to exchange ideas about the next steps of the Ibasho project.

2015

  • Jan. 7-11: Ibasho’s 3rd visit. 2 members of Ibasho House participated in this visit. After this visit, it was decided that Ibasho would continue the project at the Barangay Bagong Buhay independently.
    • Jan. 9: There were proposal for 3 activities, Recycling, Nutrition for children, and gardening in the workshop and exchanged ideas for the next steps.
    • Jan. 10: 2 members of Ibasho House taught children how to fold origami. Meeting to exchange ideas about the next steps, especially a possibility of the land use of elementary school and the mobile cafe. A Filipino nurse who participated at this visit as a supporter from Cebu City was hired as the coordinator of Ibasho project. An initial agreement was made on this date and the president of Ibasho and the coordinator were in constant communication within the rest of the month in preparation for the official start of the coordinator’s work in Barangay Bagong Buhay in February.
  • Jan. late: Members of the Senior Citizens Association started PET bottles recycling voluntarily.
  • Feb. 6: The local coordinator visited Barangay Bagong Buhay to meet with the representatives of the Senior Citizens Association. On this day, the local coordinator learned that the members of the Senior Citizens Association already started PET bottles recycling voluntarily.
  • Feb. 11: The local coordinator participated in a monthly meeting of the Senior Citizens Association. The Most of people over the age of 60 participated in the monthly meetings of the Senior Citizens Association. The local coordinator introduced 3 activities which was proposed in the January workshop include the Ibasho project.
  • Feb. 20: The 1st meeting for the project was held. The members of the project and the local coordinator participated. The project meeting would be be held at almost once a week.
  • Mar. 13-19: 2 members of Ibasho Philippines and the local coordinator visited Japan to participate in the UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai and visited Ibasho House .
  • Mar. 14-15: Two members of Ibasho Philippines and the local coordinator visited Ibasho House .
  • Mar. 18: The public forum “Elders Leading the Way to Inclusive Community Resilience” of the 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR) was held at the Tohoku University. The report “Elders Leading the Way to Resilience (Conference Version)” was published.
  • Apr. 9: Facebook page of Ibasho Philippines launched.
  • Apr. 27: One of members of Ibasho Philippines tells the local coordinator that a resident would offer a vacant land for the vegetable farm of Ibasho Philippines.
  • Apr. 28: 2 members of Ibasho Philippines and the local coordinator visited the vegetable farm of the leased land and confirmed that the cleaning was necessary before farming.
  • May 2-3: The members of Ibasho Philippines cleaned the leased land for farming. After cleaning, they put some seeds for several kinds of vegetables.
  • May 8: One of the members of Ibasho Philippines started the construction of the nursery in the vegetable farm.
  • Jun. 1: 2 members of Ibasho Philippines and the local coordinator completed the plumbing work to draw water from one of the members house nearby the vegetable farm.
  • Jun. 5: The construction of the nursery was almost finished.
  • Jun. 19: The members of Ibasho Philippines removed roots of bamboo to expand the farming space in the vegetable farm.
  • Jun. 25: A picnic was held at the vegetable farm.
  • Jul. 8: The members of Ibasho Philippines harvested vegetables for the 1st time at the vegetable farm.
  • Jul. 12: The men of Ibasho Philippines decomposed the shed where woods were placed to expand the farming space. The shed was at the center of the vegetable farm.
  • Jul. 31: As part of nutrition monthly activities, members of Ibasho Philippines invited children to the vegetable farm, and gave porridge which they cooked to children.
  • Aug. 18: Members of IsraAID visited the vegetable farm and met the members of Ibasho Philippines.
  • Oct. 22-29: Ibasho’s 4th visit. One of the members of Ibasho House participated in this visit.
    • Oct. 25: Members of Ibasho Philippines learned about farming from the member of Ibasho House . Some members of Ibasho Philippines participated in enumerator training for 1st (base-line) survey. Meeting to exchange ideas about present and the 3 years after of Ibasho Philippines.
    • Oct. 26: Members of Ibasho Philippines learned about farming from a member of Ibasho House . Meeting to review PET bottles recycling and the vegetable farm to exchange ideas about nutrition activity using the mobile cafe. Members of Philippine Nurses Association of America presented clothes for children.
    • Oct. 28: The 1st (base-line) survey was done at Bagong Buhay Elementary School. The survey was planned to be carried out 3 times in Barangay Bagong Buhay.

2016

  • Jan. 19 and 21-23: The 1st trial of the mobile cafe.
  • Feb. 4: A procedure for obtaining corporate status as a non-profit organization of “Ibasho Philippines” started.
  • Feb. 17: The participants of the 1st trial of the mobile café were awarded certificates as a form of Ibasho’s appreciation for their help and cooperation. Other members were requested to cooperate to the mobile cafe.
  • Feb. 22-29: The 2nd trial of the mobile cafe.
  • Mar. 9: The participants of the 2nd trial of mobile café were awarded a certificate as a form of Ibasho’s appreciation for their help and their cooperation.
  • May 23-25: Some of the members of Ibasho Philippines attended the 3 day-training for psychosocial Support held by IsraAID.
  • Jun. 2: Two members of Ibasho Philippines cleaned the vegetable farm and prepared for planting vegetables.
  • Jun. 5: The members of Ibasho Philippines parade in Barangay Bagong Buhay as a launch event of the mobile cafe.
  • Jun. 25: A picnic was held at the vegetable farm along with the Feast of St. John the Baptist. The members of Ibasho Philippines resumed farming.
  • Jun. 28: The local coordinator submitted an application for acquiring corporate status for “Ibasho Philippines” to SEC at Cebu City.
  • Jul. 13: Collected PET bottles were sold to a dealer at a monthly meeting of the Senior Citizens Association as fundraising of the Ibasho project.
  • Sep. 24: The bingo game was held for fundraising.
  • Nov. 20-26: Ibasho’s 5th visit.
    • Nov. 21: The local coordinator reported that the corporate status for “Ibasho Philippines Elders Incorporated” was obtained.
    • Nov. 22: Children painted their ideas about Ibasho’s building. The meeting was held to reflect the Ibasho 8 principles and the activities that the members of Ibasho Philippines carried out, and exchange ideas about making crafts and lechon which was proposed by the members.
    • Nov. 23: Measuring the size of the planned site of the Ibasho’s building. Discussion to exchange ideas about the floor plan of the Ibasho’s building.
    • Nov. 24: Meeting to exchange of ideas.

2017

  • Apr. : Two members of Ibasho Philippines visited Cebu City and attended a SEC’s seminar about the Rules and the Regulations of a nonprofit organization.
  • May mid: Repairing the bench and adding the kitchen at the feeding center began. The feeding center was located in front of the Barangay Hall damaged by the typhoon Yolanda and owned by Barangay Bagong Buhay.
  • Jun. : The Members of the project made porridge for the children of the daycare center of Barangay Bagong Buhay.
  • Jul. 24-29: Ibasho’s 6th visit.
    • Jul. 24: Meeting to reflect on the activities which the members of Ibasho Philippines carried out, and exchanged ideas about the next steps.
    • Jul. 25: The Workshop was held about the earthquake response.
    • Jul. 26: Researched about the housing of respondents of the 1st (base-line) survey. Workshop about the typhoon response.
    • Jul. 27: Painted the Feeding Center. Making soaps and knitting workshop was held at Multipurpose Room.
    • Jul. 29: Meeting to reflect on the activities which members of Ibasho Philippines carried out, exchanged ideas about next steps, introduced activities of Ibasho House and Ibasho Nepal, and reported on the results of the 1st (base-line) survey.
  • Aug. 15: One male member of Ibasho Philippines who participated in a workshop disaster prevention offered a vacant land for the vegetable farm of Ibasho Philippines.
  • Oct. 16: The 2nd (mid-line) survey began.
  • Oct. 30: The 2nd bingo game is held for the fundraising.

2018

  • Feb. 18-22: Ibasho’s 7th visit.
    • Feb. 20-22: Meeting to exchange ideas about the Ibasho’s building.
    • Feb. 20: The members of Ibasho Philippines visited the mangroves ecotourism park by NSJMPA (Naungan San Juan Mangroves Planters Association) in Barangay Naungan to learn about the livelihood project.
    • Feb. 21: Workshop about the disaster prevention.
  • Feb. 26: President of Ibasho and the local coordinator meet with the engineer whom Ibasho requested to draw a drawing of the Ibasho’s building.
  • Mar. : A draft of the drawing of the Ibasho’s building was finished.
  • May 26: The members of Ibasho Philippines seeded sunflower seeds as the sunflower project.
  • Jun. 19-26: Ibasho’s 8th visit.
    • Jun. 20-21: The members of Ibasho, Ibasho House , Ibasho Philippines and Ibasho Matatirtha participated in a seminar held by ADB and World Bank in Manila.
    • Jun. 23: Members of Ibasho, Ibasho House and Ibasho Matatirtha visited Barangay Bagong Buhay. They made a signboard and some crafts as skill exchange of 3 countries.
    • Jun. 24: Members of Ibasho, Ibasho House , Ibasho Philippines and Ibasho Matatirtha visited the mangroves ecotourism park by NSJMPA (Naungan San Juan Mangroves Planters Association) in Barangay Naungan to learn about the livelihood project.   • Jul. 7: Tthe signboard was installed at the construction site of the Ibasho’s building.
  • Jul. 17: Painted the topcoat of the signboard.
  • Sep. 17: Construction of the Ibasho’s building started.
  • Nov. 21-25: Ibasho’s 9th visit.
    • Nov. 22: Meeting to exchange ideas about the Ibasho’s building and shared the schedule for the next steps.
    • Nov. 23-24: Training for the Ibasho Ambassador.

2019

  • Jan. 5: Opening ceremony of the Ibasho’s building was held.
  • Jan. 11: The 1st meeting was held at the Ibasho’s building. On this day, the 3rd (end-line) survey started. Around 250 elders of Barangay Bagong Buhay participated in the 3rd (end-line) survey at the covered court.
